The Detonation Tour

The Detonation Tour is promising to be one of the biggest metal tours to hit South Africa. Involving over 20 of SA’s best metal bands, over a period of six long weeks, and almost twenty shows throughout South Africa, this tour is definitely out to make its mark. Our four main bands, Architecture of Aggression, Tranquil, The Dead Will Tell and Elivery.

 

The Detonation Tour will be kicking off the tour on the 21st of March in Cape Town starting at Gandalfs, then moving to Corner Bar the next day. The 28th of March brings us to Durban where they will be tearing down Winston Pub, and on the 29th Pietermaritzburg will never be the same again after they’ve played at The Red Door. Guest bands joining us in Cape Town are Azrail, Day Turns Night and Enmity, and in Durban and Pietermaritzburg is Pledge Defiance.

So ends the coast section of the tour and our bands move on to Gauteng starting off at The Doors on the 5th April where they will be joined by Unwritten Friday and New Found Disorder.

The 11th April they hit Café Arc with Namuh, then move to Joburg to Tempos where they will be joined by Hell To Pay, Facing The Gallows, Selfmoord, He Sha Burn, Bile of Man and our battle winner. Moving on to the 18th brings them to The Asylum with guest band Facing the Gallows and on the 19th with He Sha Burn at The Black Dahlia. The 26th April is at Olive Lounge, and last but not least the grand finale which will be held at Rafters in van der Bijl Park, with guest band Choking Hazard, is on the 3rd of May, thus concluding

The Detonation Tour for 2008.

The Detonation Tour is heading a massive marketing campaign joining together with online magazines, newspapers, radio stations and marketing companies around SA which is starting end of January right through to the end of April. Along with that we are also heading a Battle of the Bands where the prize is a spot on the tour. This campaign starts on the 13th February until March, and involves 8 bands.

The posters can be found on www.thedetonationtour.co.za, www.Fireangeldesign.co.za in the February and March issue, as well as on all mentioned bands websites and associated sites, SA Music News Newspaper (march issue), and on radio broadcasting.

The battle of the bands posters can be found on www.myspace.com/tranquil666 and on associated bands websites. Our battle bands include The Elysian plain, Calamity, Hades factor, Selfmoord, Hell To Pay, Father Charlez, Enemy escape route and Fleshwound.

Without the help of our sponsors,Suicidal Clothing and Tattoo Styles, along with the hard work of Dual Entertainment, Metal4Africa, Durban Alternative Bands, Calibreed Productions, Bounce Promotions, Fireangeldesign.co.za, Witchdoctor Records, Noise Hosting, All the Shows, Heritage Music, SA Music News newspaper and WhatsonSA, this tour would not have kicked off to such a great start.
